• DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Among Friends is Ventura County's first adult day health care center. The center is designed to provide a safe, fun and therapeutic environment for the frail elderly or adults who need supervision during the day due to changes in their cognitive and/or functional abilities. The participant can choose from a variety of daily activities designed to improve their functional status and to offer opportunities for socialization. A nutritious breakfast, snack and lunch in the afternoon are offered daily. Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained and qualified staff who have experience working with the elderly and adults with disabilities. Services include nursing care, massage therapy, physical and occupational therapy, social services, fun activities, transportation to and from the center, English and Spanish classes, and fun field trips. In addition, our program is designed to provide respite, education, and support to family caregivers.
